Disc splitter

Disc splitter, also known as disc tee, is a substitute for pipeline elbows in pneumatic conveying systems for cement and raw materials. It has the advantages of simple production, easy installation, and good durability. The application of pneumatic conveying in large and medium-sized cement plants is becoming increasingly widespread. In pneumatic conveying systems, ordinary elbows are components that wear out quickly. When the mixture of material and gas flows through the bend, it is subject to the action of inertial force, which flushes the outer side of the bend tightly, causing it to be quickly worn through and reducing its service life.

The flow of the material gas mixture in a circular elbow is different from that in a regular elbow. The fluid flowing into the disc from the inlet pipe first experiences a sharp decrease in velocity by 3-5 times (due to an increase in cross-sectional area by 3-5 times). Secondly, the airflow entering the disc elbow is difficult to directly flush onto the inner surface of the disc, but instead experiences friction and exchange of matter and energy with the vortex of the disc. Therefore, the direct wear of the disc by the fluid is buffered and weakened, and the vortex of the disc directly wears the disc. And the low rotational speed of the vortex is concentrated at the junction of the inlet and outlet pipes and the disc. This is where the circular bend is first worn through. Nevertheless, without reinforcement, the service life of the disc tee is 3 to 5 times longer than that of ordinary elbows, and the service life can reach more than ten years (for transporting cement). If the working face at the junction of the inlet and outlet pipe and the disc is reinforced and welded, the service life will be longer.
